Abdul Momen, a brave warrior and a brave strong voice, was promoted to the post of Subedar and was working in Wing No. 5 at Khulna in Jessore Sector. Inspired by the mantra of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's speech on March 7, 'This time's struggle is the struggle for freedom, this time's struggle is the struggle for freedom', he took a firm conviction to participate in the great liberation war and took part in the frontal battle in the great liberation war. At the beginning of the war of liberation, the Pakistani invasion forces planned to kill Bengali members of the East Bengal Regiment and the East Pakistan Rifles and Ansar forces.
At that time, after escaping from the hands of the Pakistani invaders, he directly participated in the liberation war in Sector 1 Noikhali, Feni, Chittagong, Teknaf region of Cox's Bazar. The great brave freedom fighter Abdul Momn participated in the war under the commander of Sector 1 Major Ziaur Rahman and Major Rafiqul Islam Bir Uttam during the liberation war. At the beginning of the liberation war, Major Zia and Major Rafiq were the commanders of this sector from June. The headquarters of this sector was in Harina, Tripura state of India. Abdul Momen performed various duties there as well. In July 1975, Subedar Abdul Momen, who was gained in exchange for the honor of three lakh martyrs and two lakh mothers and sisters, was fired from his job due to various conspiracies of Major Manzoor. The brave freedom fighter Abdul Momen got married to the noble Muslim woman Anwara Begum. He is the father of four sons. The elder son Nurul Amin was working in BDR. Middle son Ruhul Amin is the CEO of Hridmik Care in London, middle son Nurunnabi lives in Malaysia and younger son Shahadat Hussain lives in the country.
In 1996, the daughter of the father of the nation wrote a letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina about her own and her children's helpless condition and sought help for a better life. In that letter, conspiracy against him and helplessness in EPR emerged. Abdul Momen, a lifelong struggler and deprived brave freedom fighter, left this world on February 18, 2000. Recently, the Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives named the Makrabpur-Jorpukuria-Uttar Mahini-Sharifpur road in Nangalkot of Comilla after the freedom fighter Subedar Abdul Momen road. For this, I express my gratitude to Honorable Prime Minister and daughter of the Father of the Nation, Sheikh Hasina, Honorable LGRD Minister Mr. Md. Tajul Islam.
